Event Description

Join Black social workers in private practice for a dinner and opportunity to connect. We will be joined by honoured guest speaker Rohan Thompson, the Director of People and Equity with the County of Dufferin.

Rohan will share his wisdom and facilitate a meaningful and engaging conversation, exploring the impact of vicarious and racialized trauma on Black social workers and their clients. There will be opportunities for attendees to share their experiences and challenges, as well as explore practical ways of addressing these issues in a private and supportive space.

We invite you to come together as professionals in unity to encourage, enlighten and bond. There will be opportunities to reflect, support and build social connections as we grow a strong and uplifting community.

Please note: This event is open to and meant for social workers identifying as Black, and/or a member of the African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) population in Ontario, to facilitate open discussion and ensure a communal healing space for this community.

We look forward to welcoming the first 15 individuals who register to attend.

Dinner and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided free of charge for registrants!
