We look forward to welcoming the first 25 individuals who register to attend.

When

     Saturday, June 29 from 10:45 AM to 1 PM

Brunch: 10:45 - 12 PM

Garden Tour: 12 PM to 1:15 PM

*Attendees will participate in the Garden Tour in small groups. Brunch will begin promptly at 10:45 AM. Attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive early to avoid disruptions. 

Costs

OASW Members: $10 refundable deposit

To encourage engagement among members, we kindly ask for a $10 deposit. Following your confirmed attendance of the event, members will be refunded.

Event Description

Come join us for a mega summer networking event with Hamilton, Brantford and Halton members at Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington. The Hendrie Park Rose Garden will be in full bloom, the largest floral event of the year held at Canada's largest botanical garden. With its diverse plant collection, a rich history, and a firm commitment to environmental conservation, the Royal Botanical Gardens is a beautiful site to network with other social workers in an informal setting. Join us for a High Tea brunch followed by a private guided tour of the Rose Garden and free time afterwards to explore other gardens or walking trails if you wish. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Free time: Your all day pass is valid at all Royal Botanical Garden parks until 5pm closing time. You're welcome to extend your visit if you wish and explore with other members or on your own.

Registration Notes:

  • Hendrie Garden at RBG and the Tea House meet the Ontario government's legal requirements to be called a facility that is accessible to people with disabilities. However, every person's disability and personal challenges are unique to them in nature and the accommodations that are needed. There are paved walkways and sidewalks as well as elevators on the premises. There is also accessible parking onsite. There is a slight slope on the pathway leading to the entrance of the Tea House.

  • If any accommodations are required, please share these upon registration and we will do our best to accommodate all requests. Please feel free to reach out to engagement@oasw.org prior to registering if you have any questions.

  • Tea House Brunch (choose 1 upon registration):
    • Afternoon Tea (Option 1):
      • Pick 1 Sloane tea
      • Finger Sandwiches:Coronation chicken, ham & brie, smoked salmon, and cucumber 
      • Freshly baked scones with honey butter, strawberry jam, and lemon cream 
      • French macaron, madeleine & cream puff
    • Turtle Tea (Vegetarian) (Option 2):
      • Pick 1 Sloane tea 
      • Finger sandwiches: Egg salad, coronation chick pea, roasted eggplant & zucchini, and cucumber 
      • Freshly baked scones with strawberry jam and lemon cream
      • French macaron, madeleine & cream puff
    • Please note any allergies and dietary requirements upon registration. We will do our best to accommodate all request.
    • If you have allergies that conflict with the lunch options presented, please reach out to OASW with your concerns. We will contact the Royal Botanical Gardens to find out if your allergies can be accomodated

Please Note: Your contact information may be shared with the Ambassador or event organizer for the process of day of coordination

We highly encourage all members to continue to practice public health measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 and to remain up to date on latest developments of provincial health measures.

Waitlist Instructions

Once the event is full, you may register for the waitlist. If you are on the waitlist, you will only be contacted if a spot opens up.

Health and Safety

Participants should remain up-to-date on information from government and public health authorities regarding attending in-person events outside. Public Health Ontario prevention and management measures. 

Any participants showing signs and symptoms of COVID-19 are recommended to remain home. For more information, please follow the direct guidance from the Ontario Ministry of HealthPublic Health Ontario and your local public health authority.
