Gilbert & Sullivan's Patience | |||||||||||||
Description | |||||||||||||
Patience, or Bunthorne's Bride, is a comic opera in two acts, with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert. Patience, the Milkmail, loves no man and Bunthorne, the Poet, loves only himself. They're the perfect couple in this hilarious satire of Romance by the English Masters. First performed at the Opera Comique, London, on April 23, 1881, it moved to the 1,292-seat Savoy Theatre on October 10, 1881, where it was the first theatrical production in the world to be lit entirely by electric light. This year's production will be presented by the North Shore Light Opera Society. Online tickets sales end at 5pm the day before the show. |
