Overview: 

This session will explain how internal audit should respond to the dynamic business environment and re-think ways of aligning with the change. It will focus on the strategy that internal audit can adopt to accelerate its evolution from where it is to where it should be. The session will help the attendees to:

1)      Understand how i/a can transform into a “Proactive Catalyst” of business improvement

2)      Learn how to position internal audit to be an enabler of business performance

3)      Discover the ways to turn insights into outsights

4)      Learn to develop future focused approach towards internal auditing, focusing on where    the risk is going to be

5)      Establish clear understanding of objective centric auditing and the ways of true "Value  Creation" for key stakeholders

6)      Learn how to increase internal audit’s influence and create an impactful brand within the organization

About The Presenter

Imran Zia, Msc, ACA, FCCA, CIA, CISA and CFE

Imran is a seasoned professional with rich internal audit experience spanning over decades. He has worked for various multinationals, Big Four Firms and National & International corporates. Throughout his career, he has established a reputation as a transformational leader who is driven by challenge and committed to furthering standards of excellence. He has hands-on experience setting-up internal audit functions for various organizations. Imran has been a speaker at IIA National and International Conferences and currently serves at the VP of the Vancouver Island Chapter, slated to step into the President role in June 2020.

 Imran is a proud winner of "Internal Audit Excellence Award" from ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales). He also serves/served various professional bodies in different capacities.

 Join Us at Camosun College’s Accounting and Finance Week

Back by popular demand, the Chapter will host an Information Session open to all current and prospective Business students during Camosun’s annual Accounting and Finance Week. During this highly interactive session, we will provide prospective future internal auditors with information about local internal auditing education options, careers in internal auditing, and membership in The IIA. In turn, we will leave energized and inspired by the students - their stories and goals are consistently impressive. Everything is organized – you just need to sign up and show up!
