Session 2 - Introduction to
Data Analytics
In this hands-on virtual
session, participants will learn how to discover fraud and
financial anomalies using TeamMate Analytics software.
Students will be guided to preload the software on their
personal computers prior to the session, receive an
instructional video, and receive online support to ensure
that they are able to complete their fraud investigation.
Please note
: Participants will need to have Microsoft Windows on
their computer with Excel. If participants are using a
corporate computer, they will need to get IT support to
install TeamMate Analytics if they don't have administrative privileges.
About The Presenters:
Jason Stevenson (KPMG)
Jason is a Director in KPMG’s
Technology Risk Consulting practice, specializing in cyber
security and information protection. He has worked
extensively in multiple disciplines of the information
security field, including security strategy and governance,
security threat and risk management and cyber-defense over
the last 20 years. He has led and/or conducted security,
threat and risk assessments, technical security reviews,
security design/strategy/architecture, incident response,
vulnerability assessments and penetration studies (“ethical
hacking”) for numerous clients in a range of industries,
including those on behalf of Internal Audit functions.
Kelly Dorin (Camosun College)
Extensive experience and
training in accounting, audit, risk management, performance
management, control risk self-assessment, data analytics,
and fraud investigations. In addition to being a Chartered
Professional Accountant, Kelly is also a Certified IDEA Data
Analyst, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud
Examiner and holds certifications in Control
Self-Assessment, Cyber Security and Risk Management. Kelly
is a past member of the University of Victoria School of
Business Board of Advisors and is the past President of both
the Vancouver Island Chartered Accountants Association and
the Institute of Internal Auditors. Kelly currently teaches
internal audit and data analytics at Camosun College, and
business administration at the University of Victoria.
