 Description

The Vancouver Island Chapter of the IIA is pleased to host the following virtual event:

  DATE:              January 26  , 2022

TIME:              12:00 noon to 1:00pm (PST)

  LOCATION:   Virtual / webinar (a free-of-charge event)

TOPIC:           Aligning Internal Audit with Organizational Strategy

SPEAKERS:      Archie R. Thomas, Consulting Internal Auditor

Event topic overview:

Intricate and visible alignment with organizational strategy is key to an Internal Audit activity’s contribution to organizational success and the continued relevance of the activity. Successful alignment goes well beyond the mechanical exercise of reconciling the risk-based plan to the organization’s strategic plan.  Effective alignment permeates all aspects of an internal audit activity from its governance, through its management and staffing, to its day-to-day processes.

This presentation will change the way you think about strategy and objectives.  Drawing on practical, real-life examples gleaned from dozens of internal audit shops, the presenter will show how strategic alignment can improve Internal Audit’s effectiveness and the visibility of its contribution.  Attendees will learn how to capitalize on their conformance to the Standards to make strategic alignment a state of mind.
