Role of Risk Management in Organizational Resilience:

Overview: In this engaging session, we will delve
into the core principles of building a resilient future through
effective risk management. Our exploration will center on
understanding the essence of true organizational resilience and how
strategic risk management practices contribute to its enhancement.
Moreover, we will unravel the intricate dynamics of the heart, the
art, and the science involved in risk transformations, providing
valuable insights to fortify organizations against unforeseen
challenges. This session will also encompass the establishment of
the symbiotic relationship between resilience and risk management.
Attendees will explore how a proactive and integrated approach to
risk management can serve as the bedrock of organizational
resilience, mitigating potential threats and capitalizing on
unforeseen opportunities.

Speaker: Imran is a seasoned professional with
internal audit experience spanning over decades. He has worked for
various multinationals and Big Four firms. Imran currently works for
Vancouver Fraser Port Authority as Director, Risk Management &
Assurance. Imran also contributes towards the profession as a SME
and thought leader. He services on multiple bodies such as IIA's
Canada Advisory Committee, ACCA's Global Forum for Audit &
Assurance, and ACFE's Global Advisory Council. He also regularly
speaks in conferences and seminars worldwide. Imran is a winner of
"Internal Audit Excellence Award" from the Institute of
Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
CAE Panel - Role of Risk and Audit at the Leadership Table
Overview: Some topics and questions that the CAE
panel will consider are:
- How do you influence organizational resiliency (pandemic,
recession, geopolitical tensions, etc.),
- How does risk and audit influence / be influenced by the corporate culture,
- How do risk and audit functions add value as advisors on strategic initiatives,
- How do you collaborate with business to help boards stay ahead of
escalating cyber-risk landscape.
- The CAE panel will also take questions from attendees.
