Basic Cruising Standard
 Description

In this complete sailing course, you will become autonomous and learn all about terms & definitions, gear & equipment, safety, Canadian regulations, weather, duties of the skipper and crew, seamanship, maneuvering under power, handling under sail, making fast and snugging down. Taught by Sail Canada certified instructors; each session has a maximum of four participants (15 years+).

You will work towards your Basic Cruising Standard certification.


Price: $960 per session | $864 for member booking 
Classroom/Water: 28 hours
Dates: July - October
Recommended: Boat Operator Course

Sat 12 & 26 (10am-5pm)

Session 8 - October
Thu 1,8,15,22 (3:00pm-6:30pm)
Sat 17 & 24 (10am-5pm)

 

 

Each participant and their family must assess their own individual risk of exposure to COVID-19 acknowledging that engaging in any activity outside of one’s home at this time exposes a person to the risk of contracting COVID-19 even if all precautions and protocols are adhered to.   If a participant is a member of a family or lives with a person who has underlying medical condition(s) they must not participate.  If any participant’s family member has any of the above-noted COVID-19 symptoms, they must remain home, self quarantine and not participate in sailing activities
