Fundamentals Enhanced Fall 2023 (Online)

Eligibility Criteria/Pre-requisites:

Fundamentals Enhanced is open to NPs, RNs, & RPNs with an interest in developing their capacity related to hospice palliative care in a clinical setting. Pre-requisites:

• Must be an NP, RN, or RPN
• Must have completed  Fundamentals of HPC Core program (or equivalent).  Unsure?  Contact: hpcinfo@hospicewaterloo.ca

Fundamentals Enhanced is a prerequisite for the CAPCE Program. Not all learners will go on to take CAPCE; however, this is an opportunity to learn more about the role of the CAPCE Resource Nurse.

Course Overview

Fundamentals Enhanced is a 2-hour, case-based learning session that covers:

• Assessment Review
• Pharmacological Review

Course Objectives

• To provide support and guidance for nurses to utilize their skills and palliative knowledge more effectively
• To learn from the experiences of practiced hospice palliative care leaders in a relaxed, safe and informal learning environment
• To discuss possible future learning opportunities

Course Details

Two weeks prior to the first virtual classroom session, learners will receive an email containing a link to a survey, as well as reading materials, which will need to be completed prior to the first classroom session on Zoom.
