Incorporating Cybersecurity into the M&A lifecycle - Online Session

THIS IS AN ONLINE SESSION

 

Session Description:

This 3.5 hour session will provide attendees with a better understanding of how Cybersecurity issues potentially affect M&A (using pre and post-acquisition scenarios) and the cost of inaction as it relates to integrating Cybersecurity activities into the various stages of the M&A process. This session will walk participants through an overall approach to identification and mitigation of cybersecurity risks faced by companies during the M&A process, with recommendations on how to solve these challenges. Some of the aspects to be covered includes cyber risk identification, incident management, compromise assessment and the continuous management of portfolio companies as it relates to asset management

Session Highlights:

Participants will walk away with:

  • Practices and framework to mitigate the cybersecurity, privacy and reputational damage risks associated with acquiring full or % ownership in an organization;
  • Various Cyber security risk assessments to be considered for a stand-alone acquisition or merger as part of the standard due diligence process;
  • The role of Open Source Intelligence in understanding the threat landscape, identifying, and mitigating against common Cybersecurity threats;
  • Lessons learned from previous M&A deals that have resulted in financial and reputational damage because of Cybersecurity negligence; and
  • Incident management best practices to be implemented before, during and after a potential incident.

Speaker Bios:

Josh Iroko is a Strategic Consulting Services Senior Consultant at FireEye Mandiant’s Toronto, Canada office. Before joining FireEye Mandiant, Josh was a Consultant in the Cyber Security Practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. As part of the Strategic Services team, Josh delivers Security Program Development and Transformation engagements for organizations in Canada, the United States, and multiple other countries across the world. Josh has worked with many industries including Financial Institutions, Public Sector/Government, Energy and Utilities, Telecommunications, etc.

Jesse Jordan, CISM, CISSP is a Managing Consultant at FireEye Mandiant’s Toronto, Canada office. Jesse has over 18 years of experience working in the financial, insurance and pension industries building security assessment methodologies and designing Information Security programs. In his current role, Jesse is responsible for managing and delivering Virtual CISO (vCISO), Security Program Assessments, Cyber Response Readiness Assessments, Cyber Due Diligence, Security Program Development and Transformation engagements for organizations and governments across Canada, the United States, and internationally.

Zubair Baig is a Senior Consultant at Mandiant with over 4 years of cybersecurity experience. His areas of expertise include enterprise Incident Response and Digital Forensics, along with threat hunting. Prior to his employment at Mandiant, Zubair was a consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers within the Threat and Vulnerability Management team.

Muhammad Muneer is a Strategic Consulting Services Consultant based out of Vancouver, Canada. Before joining FireEye Mandiant, Muhammad worked as a Security Analyst with experience working in Education, Government, and Industry. As part of the Strategic Services team, Muhammad delivers Security Program Development and Transformation engagements for organizations in Canada.
