Recent Trends in IT and Cybersecurity Audits - Online Session
 Description

Session Summary:

With the changing cyber threat landscape and the latest trends of advancement in IT, the role of the Internal Audit function (third line of defense) has become much more pronounced in organizations.

Internal Audit is helping the board and executive management to better understand the nature of the risks and the controls available to the organization not only through independent assessments, but also through collaboration with the second line of defense in identifying the risk universe.

Accordingly, auditors should keep abreast of the most recent and applicable trends in disruptive technologies. Elements such as increase in cyber-crime, cloud computing, IoT, and operational
technology require a fresh look at approach and skillset within audit programs.

This 3.5-hour session will enable attendees to better understand the recent trends in IT and cybersecurity and the role of the audit function in addressing the broad spectrum of risks in the
digital age. At the end, we will look into the diverse risks in a select sample industry to provide an opportunity for the attendees to engage in an interactive discussion.

Session highlights:

Participants will walk away with:

  • An understanding of the most recent trends in IT and cybersecurity affecting the audit practice
  • Knowledge of Internal Audit’s role in addressing the related risks

  • First hand and real-world examples of the risks and how Internal Audit function has helped address those risks in various organizations and industries
