 Description

Session Description

Many IT Auditors and Cybersecurity professionals have a strong grasp in technical skills but struggle with communicating technical knowledge to others. With so many ways to communicate, it’s easy for messages to get lost in translation especially when dealing with non-technical audiences. Think of all the challenges you’ve faced at work; how many misunderstood assessments reports, weak presentations, avoidable risks, and team tension that could have been avoided with better communication.

In this high energy, high interaction presentation, Vanderburg will teach you how you can improve your communication skills. She will share how to craft your message effectively, and find the right times to communicate for maximum impact. She will help you determine how to share your message by picking the right channel. Also, she will help you better understand digital and nonverbal communication so you can be an effective communicator in any medium.

Attendees will learn and practice:

·Effective listening skills

  • How to deal with distractions and interruptions within communication
  • How to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
  • The fundamentals of effective communication
