Speaker Bios:

Tabish Gill is a Partner in the Financial Services Consulting practice based out of Toronto, Canada and specializes in providing risk management solutions to consumer focused organizations with deep expertise in non-financial risk management including internal audit, third party, cyber and technology risk management. Tabish has deep expertise in delivering programs that include formulation of strategy to implementation and operationalization of strategic initiatives designed to enhance governance, oversight, risk management and internal control posture leveraging data, analytics, automation and emerging technologies.

Prior to joining EY in September 2021, Tabish was the Global Head of Technology & Cyber Security Audit team (2018-2021) and Global Head, Capital Markets IT Audit Team (2019-2020) at Royal Bank of Canada. Tabish led a global team to provide risk based assurance and advisory for all areas of technology including Cyber Security, Technology Infrastructure, Third Party IT & Cyber Risk Management, and emerging technologies including Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotic Process Automation. Tabish also led the digital transformation for the Technology & Operations Audit team to develop continuous risk monitoring and risk assurance capabilities leveraging data, analytics, automation and other emerging technologies. Prior to joining RBC, Tabish spent over 13 years at Deloitte in various progressive roles within the Risk Advisory consulting practice in Toronto, Canada.

Tabish holds the Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems (CRISC), and Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) designations. Tabish is also a frequent speaker on the topic of Cyber & Technology Risk management with a focus on digital risk management and digitally enabled risk management.

Patrick Vendiola is a Toronto-based Manager in the Consulting Services practice of EY. He has more than seven years of consulting experience, advising clients on the subjects of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), Privacy, and Cybersecurity. He has served clients throughout Canada and the US and in various industries such as financial services, health care, and energy. 

Session 2: Open banking – Privacy

Speaker Bios:

Jessica Hansen is an Executive Director and Privacy Lead for the Financial Services and Risk Management (FSRM) Team at EY Canada.  The FSRM Privacy Team are responsible for both strategy and operationalizing privacy programs for financial services organizations across Canada.

She has worked in the financial services space for over 17yrs, holding various positions for organizations in the UK, the Middle East, South Africa and Canada.  Jessica is a Regulatory compliance specialist with a focus on Global Privacy Regulations having led numerous strategic and transformational Privacy Programs across various jurisdictions.

Jessica has a bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics and Organizational Psychology, as well as certifications in Anti-money Laundering, Privacy Risk, Sustainable Financing and Analysing Banking Risk.

Sam Nazari is a senior leader in EY Canada's Banking & Technology consulting practice- Focused on Financial Services Innovation: Open banking and Open API, Digital assets, Corporate strategy and M&A. Sam has several years of experience and an extensive record of success in delivering innovative and sustaining business solutions.  Sam is highly skilled in building a solid vision for enterprise-wide initiatives, developing and executing strategies that generate quantifiable results and competitive advantage. Sam's focus has been working with clients across Financial Services and supporting them with transformative initiatives in Open Banking, M&A (Target selection, Due Diligence, Separation and Carve out, Transition), Digital Banking, Technology Strategy, Emerging Technologies, Innovation, Core Banking, Corporate Functions and Enterprise Architecture.
