This session will introduce you to the concept of Organizational Change Management (OCM).

  •        We will go through what OCM is, and what OCM is not
  •        We will tie OCM into the 4 domains of CISM
  •        We’ll look at how you can use OCM to help drive the goals of each domain forward into your enterprise
  •        We will also review frameworks that are important in each discipline – NIST and PROSCI’s ADKAR model

By the end of this course learners will have gained insights into:

  1. The Intersection between Change Management and CISM
  2. The application of Change Management methodologies to strengthen information security governance practices.
  3. Risk Mitigation through Change Management Strategies
  4. Using Change Management principles to align your Security Programs

SpeakerProfile:

Melanie Wijeratna is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and PROSCI-trained Change Manager. She is a dynamic professional, bringing together a fusion of expertise in information security, change management, and a rich academic and career background. Her career trajectory embodies a strong blend of diverse disciplines and global experiences.

A graduate of the University of Toronto with degrees in Semiotics, Anthropology, and Linguistics, Melanie's avid curiosity led her to explore the subtle patterns and connections between language, culture, and society. This multidisciplinary foundation became the eventual springboard for her journey as the founder of Blue Star Ink, a boutique cybersecurity consulting firm.

Melanie attributes her success to an ongoing pursuit of exploration across various avenues in life, science, and linguistics. Her immersive experience in both living and travelling globally, has positioned her to offer diverse perspectives and ideas in her professional endeavors.

Reflecting on her unconventional career path, Melanie cherishes the unpredictability and richness it offered. "My journey has not been a straight line; it is a tapestry of discoveries, each twist and turn revealing new insights and opportunities. Embracing the unusual and different has been instrumental in fueling my thriving career."

Currently residing in Mississauga, Melanie continues to champion the integration of diverse perspectives in the corporate landscape, leveraging her multifaceted background to navigate the ever-evolving realm of cybersecurity and organizational change management.
