CLINICAL SUPERVISION TRAINING PROGRAM SPRING 2021

10 weekly seminars, Monday evenings 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. EST

(April 19, 26, May 3, 10, 17, 31, June 7, 14, 21, 28)

CICAPP and CAPCT are offering supervision training in Spring 2021. This program is for mental health professionals interested in expanding their skill set to become a clinical supervisor. Participants will learn how to supervise those who are working with children, adolescents or parents in both the private and public sectors. The program is taught by experienced supervisors with specialized training. A range of psychoanalytic theories will inform the spectrum of supervisory approaches and techniques.

This training meets the CRPO 30 hours of directed learning in providing clinical supervision. 

 This program will be delivered via synchronous online learning.

About the Program

We will examine a range of psychoanalytic and pedagogical theories informing supervision. Presentations will use a case study approach and are adaptive to a range of experience levels. New supervisors are welcome.

The program will be delivered through weekly synchronous online seminars. Participants will learn through seminars and case discussions. 

 Topics include:

• Psychoanalytically-informed supervision theories;
• A developmental model of supervision;
• Use of self in supervision;
• Ethics and power relationships in supervision; 
• The various roles and obligations of a supervisor;
• Complex and challenging cases.

Tuition is refundable up to one week prior to the start of the program (less an administration charge of $25). Withdrawing candidates will receive a full refund minus $400 (cost of the initial 2 weeks and an administration fee). No refunds will be issued after the second class. This may be reviewed on a case by case basis if withdrawal is due to a serious health issue or unforeseen emergency event.
