2018 Wild Kidz Castlegar
 Description

Wild Kidz  is a week-long day camp for kids ages 9-12, which strives to educate children about the importance of nature, while providing them with fun, hands-on outdoor experiences.  The Wild Kidz Camp targets a variety of learning methods with activities such as ecological workshops, visits to parks, talks & demonstrations, outdoor classrooms, educational games, fishing lessons, and more. Not only will your child learn more about the value of the environment, they will do so through fun, hands-on outdoor activities and collaborative learning methods.

  • Some sample activities include:
  • Fire and shelter-building games
  • Archery and range day
  • Fishing field trip
  • Grow-your-own sprouts
  • Find-Your-Way compass activity
  • Hiking field trip
  • Much more!

A more detailed scheduled will be included in a Parent Handbook, which will be sent via email a few business days after registration ends. The Parent Handbook provides an overview of Camp logistics such as where campers must be dropped off and picked up, forms, etc.

Each year, the Wild Kidz Camp is held in different communities throughout BC so that the BCWF, as a province-wide organization, can help instill conservation values in children as future stewards of BC’s environment in communities across the province. This year, we are holding our camp at the Castlegar District Wildlife Association in Castlegar. We hope you can make it!
