Virtual Juvenile Sturgeon Conservation Workshop
Date: January 22, 2021 Overview: During this 2.5 hr virtual workshop participants will have the opportunity to gain further experience on juvenile sturgeon and their habitat as well as threats they encounter in the Fraser River. These workshops will include engaging activities and a presentation from various experts in the field. On January 22nd Sarah Schreier, Executive Director of the Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society will join us. Sarah will discuss the current situation of juvenile White Sturgeon in the Fraser River, the status of the population to date, as well as conservation actions the FRSCS takes to help sturgeon and accelerate the pace to recovery. Conservation actions include the FRSCS award-winning data collection and reporting system, its ongoing monitoring and assessment program, and community engagement. |
