Wetland Stewardship Virtual Workshop

When:  January 15, 2022, 9:00 am- 5:00 pm (PST)

Where Hosted through Zoom
Cost NO CHARGE! ($100+ value)

The BC Wildlife Federation's Wetlands Education Program presents Wetland Stewardship Virtual Workshop a free public workshop. Wetlands can filter water, mitigate flooding, and provide critical habitat to hundreds of species. Unfortunately, wetlands are disappearing at an alarming rate and need our protection.

This 1-day  virtual workshop will focus on wetland stewardship, with interviews of landowners in the Kootenays who have created wetland habitat on their personal properties, and guest speakers Neil Fletcher and Tom Biebighauser or Robin Annschild to talk about wetland stewardship funding opportunities and practicalities. This workshop will also cover the basics of wetland classification, and discuss values and loss of wetlands, reiterating the importance of conservation, stewardship, and restoration of these unique and important ecosystems.

You will need access to a desktop or laptop computer to participate, and a stable internet connection is strongly advised.
