SPOUSAL PROGRAM

You must know that when you’re visiting a place like Kelowna, narrowing down just 3 days of activities for a group can be a challenge! There are so many amazing places to visit and the experiences are endless! Nevertheless, we’ve managed to bring together an amazing local tour company, numerous local businesses, and some amazing volunteers to create a fun, adventurous, and thrilling 3-Day Spousal Program Package!

Included with each daily package:

Breakfast
Lunch
Evening Event

*Note that should you choose the 1- or 2-day package, meals and evening events are included only for those days you’ve purchased. Meal tickets and evening event tickets are available for purchase on their own for the day you’ve elected not to participate.

Thursday, April 11th – Registrants will enjoy breakfast with AGM delegates at the Coast Capri and get ready to head out on their tour. Meeting at the lobby area, they will be greeted by BCWF Staff and met by their tour guide for the day! The Okanagan is one of Canada’s best-known grape-growing regions, for good reason! There are a wide number of options available to visit and sample the incredible wines produced there!

Beach Bum Tours will meet our registrants at the Coast Capri in the morning and get everyone safely onto the bus for a day of touring local wineries, a local food truck lunch, with opportunities to have great conversations and peruse the winery shops to their heart's content!

Friday, April 12th – We’re not sure who else loves a good day of Thrifting, but we sure do! Once again Beach Bum Tours will be your hosts for the day as you head out to enjoy the shops in Kelowna and the area to search for that rare gem you didn’t know you were looking for!

Saturday, April 13th – Always wanted a chance to practice your aim with some seasoned hunters? We're excited to include a day at the Oceola Fish & Game Club where you'll spend time with their group of dedicated shooters learning more about firearms handling, safety, trap shooting, and more! (UPDATED 03/05)

YOUTH PROGRAM

Our Youth Members are vitally important to continue conservation and advocacy efforts throughout the province! Getting kids involved at a young age has so many benefits it would be a challenge to fit them all into just one page.

We are so excited to continue to encourage and welcome youth participants to all BCWF events but especially our AGM & Convention. We can’t wait to welcome youth to our exciting 3-Day program this year!

Our Youth delegates can attend the AGM & Convention as either a Youth Voting Delegate or a Youth Non-voting Delegate. Either way, they will be included in member portions of the AGM proceedings, learning more about how the B.C. Wildlife Federation operates and communicates with its members. If they have registered as a Youth Voting Delegate, they will have the opportunity to vote as part of the proceedings.

Thursday, April 11th - Shooting Sports can enhance youths' hand-eye coordination, increase their confidence, and teach them more about safety and risk assessment in the outdoors. Starting with a day of outdoor adventure and archery at the Oceola Fish & Game Club in the morning, kids will be welcomed by our enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers! BCWF volunteer Emma Kozub will be sharing her expertise in archery with our participants where they will learn about safety, proper positioning, and how to get the perfect shot with a bow during target practice! This is a great way for our youth to spend time outdoors, learn a new skill (or practice and share their knowledge if they’re already familiar with the sport), and make new friends!

In the afternoon, participants will head over to the Kelowna Rod & Gun Club where our skilled volunteers will lead our participants through a safety brief regarding firearms, and shooting range safety, and then guide them through the process to successfully hit their targets. The participants will learn and have fun together fostering the ‘Community for Conservation’.

Friday, April 12th -  This will be a highlight, no doubt! A visit to the Summerland Trout Hatchery will show our participants the work and dedication that's involved in ensuring the survival of some of the common species of fish in Okanagan Lakes and get them ready for a day of angling! Participants will be able to try their hand at tying flys and even practice casting as they will have a visit from the prestigious Penticton Fly Fishers in the afternoon.

Saturday, April 13th - By day 3, if the participants haven’t created a CORE memory over the past 2 days, they sure will on Saturday! Fishing from a boat is an experience that many kids growing up in an urban setting won’t have the opportunity to experience. Today the participants of the Youth Program will gather with volunteers and their watercraft to take the kids on an adventure on the lake. The youth will learn about safety on the water, be fitted with lifejackets, fishing rods, and bait, and head out for some fishing! The registration form displays the Youth Program packages, and on the following page, those who have selected 1-Day or 2-Day packages can select which day(s) they will be attending.

Included with each daily package:

Breakfast
Lunch
Evening Event

*If you have selected the 3-Day package, there is no need to select which day(s) you’ll be attending, because you’ll be with us for all 3 days.

*Parents/guardians will be required to read and sign a waiver for each participant they register. Waivers will be provided on-site.

*An alternate agenda will be available should we encounter weather on the days listed above. Participants, parents, or guardians will be given notice as soon as possible.

Youth Program Packages*:

1-Day Package                                     $99.00
2-Day Package                                     $199.00
3-Day Package                                     $299.00

*Note – meals and evening events are included for the number of days indicated in the package you’ve chosen. If you wish to attend meals and evening events on the days you will not be attending the Youth Program, you can purchase meals and evening events individually.
