Plain Language with Greg Ioannou | ||||||||||||||||
Description | ||||||||||||||||
Plain Language with Greg Ioannou Saturday, October 17, 2020 Plain language writing and editing has a simple goal: crafting messages that get specific information to an intended audience. You do that by communicating to people with the words that they use, in the media they prefer, in ways that they find comfortable, appealing, and easy to understand. Greg Ioannou has been a writer and editor since 1977 and has done plain language work since the 1980s for a range of government and corporate clients. His largest plain language gig was with the City of Toronto. From 2006 to 2009, Greg's company studied how the City communicated and then helped implement changes to how City Council meetings ran and all City documents (from emails to major reports) were prepared. The City still uses the plain language document templates and meeting management processes that Greg's team put into place. |
