Even before COVID-19 changed the global economic landscape, we had been riding an accelerating wave of rapid technological change. What it took to build a successful business 20 years ago is vastly different from what it takes today – and the pandemic has only turbocharged our trajectory towards a strange new future of work.
In this three-part workshop, join Jacquelyn Cardinal from Naheyawin to learn about how entrepreneurs, businesses, and freelancers around the globe are using new tools and ways of thinking to build a future of work that they are excited to meet — no matter what stage their business is at or how tech savvy they are. Participants will walk away from this series with the ability to:
This course has been tailored for small business owners and freelancers but will be valuable to anyone who wants to truly launch into 2021.
Workshop 1: The New Basics: Tools, Rules, and Hacks - October
Automating business processes leaves you more time to market your services and work in your business rather than on it. The first session introduces you to the top digital productivity tools that will help you manage your tasks, your time, and your resources.
Workshop 2: Finding Balance: Calming the Feast and Famine
Cycle - December 3, 2020
Solopreneurs who offer services rather than products often go through so many feast and famine cycles that they get used to it and don’t look for new ways to work. In this session, learn how to use your new tools to create the opportunities to either grow your business or to take it in a whole new direction.
Workshop 3: Bulletproofing: Planning for Disruptions &
Abundance - January 14, 2021
After you learn the basics of streamlining your business and reducing the upheaval caused by feast and famine cycles, the beginning of 2021 is the perfect time to take what you learn from theory to practice. The final workshop shows you how to implement and build the processes that are critical to diversifying, stabilizing, and growing your business to weather whatever the future may bring.
Jacquelyn Cardinal is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Naheyawin, an Edmonton based agency that serves as a bridge between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, and Vice President Brand of Social Awareness Group, a group of companies with a shared aim to promote Indigenous prosperity in a meaningful and sustainable way through technology platforms.
She has been honoured to receive an Esquao Award for Achievement in Business, a prestigious place in Edmonton's Top 40 Under 40 class of 2018, and a SHEInnovates Award from the UN Women's Global Innovation Coalition for Change, all three of which she was nominated for by her supportive community. In early 2019 her first play, Lake of the Strangers, co-written with her brother, Hunter Cardinal, and co-produced with Fringe Theatre, premiered to critical and popular acclaim.
