Take Care of Your Body While It Takes Care of Business: Yoga and Meditation for Editors

We all have those moments, the ones where we have been at the computer for hours and our bodies are showing signs of strain. Stiff necks, backs, shoulders, or hands. Headaches. Eye strain. Foggy focus. Inability to concentrate. Our bodies are not designed to sit as long or as often as we do. Over time, working as a “sitting professional” and a creative professional takes its toll.
Our next Editors Edmonton session will help us learn strategies to give our bodies — one of our key professional assets — a break and to counterbalance all our sitting.
You will learn:
• how yoga can help the sitting professions
• yoga poses specific to troublesome body areas for sitters (30-minute practice)
• how meditation can help the creative professions
• meditation techniques (10-minute practice)
The session will wrap-up with a short Q&A session.
