Prerequisites - The coach candidate will have completed all prerequistes prior to the course start date. This includes PCOC, first aid and the appropriate sailing level. Coach candidates may be asked to provide proof of valid certification at the coaching course. Coach candidates must send copies of all prerequiste certifications to BC Sailing prior to registration with Sail Canada. Prerequisites can be checked on the Sail Canada website. Professionalism and Safety - Coaches are required to act in a professional and safe manner in all coaching courses. Failure to act in a professional and safe manner are subject to failure in the course and disciplinary action. Coaches must always abide by the Coaching Code of Conduct. Communication - Coach candidates are required to act professionally throughout their coaching career, and this starts with communication prior to the course. Communication with Learning Facilitators prior to, during and after coaching courses is an extention of a job application and interview. Questions are welcome from parents regarding course fees and the coaching process, however Learning Facilitators prefer to communicate directly with coach candidates. Cancellation Policy - Course fees are fully refundable until 14 days prior to the course. Within 14 days of the course start date, cancellations are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Within 14 days prior to the course date, there is a $50 fee to change to alternate course dates. Except in emergencies, there will no refunds or changes to course dates allowed within 3 days prior to the course start date. |
