Social Work & the Law: Navigating Legal Systems, Supporting Clients

Building legal literacy and confidence for social work practice

Understand the law. Strengthen your practice. Support your clients.

Social workers regularly support people navigating complex legal systems and the social, economic and personal impacts of legal decisions. This four-part series, delivered by the South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario (SALCO), explores key areas of law that intersect with social work practice including family law, gender-based violence, housing and eviction, racial discrimination, and immigration status.

Designed for social workers, the series will build practical legal literacy, strengthen confidence in identifying legal issues, and support more informed, responsive and client-centred practice.

All webinars will be recorded and made available on-demand in the week following the live event.

Individual webinar registration required for each event. Registration closes at 3pm on the business day before each webinar.
