Trek for Kids 2018 - Patagonia
 Description

The year 2018 is the start of our next 50 years of service to the children and youth of the Sarnia-Lambton community.

In late October of this year a group will be leaving Sarnia on a trek that will take them to one of the most pristine wilderness areas on the planet.  The destination is Patagonia, an area that covers over a million square kilometres in the southern part of Chile and Argenrtina stretching from the Pacific Ocean on the west clear across to the Atlantic Ocean on the east.  The flight from Toronto to Santiago, Chile will be followed by a flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas.  In Punta Arenas the group will almost be as far south as you can get in the Western Hemisphere.  To the south is Cape Horn, to the north east the Falkland Islands.

Our first trek will take place in Torres del Paines National Park and the "W" trek what is referred to as the most famous trek in Chile.  Once complete the group will travel across the border to Argentina where they will spend several days trekking back to see Mount Fitz Roy and later the Viedma Glacier, the third largest glacie in the world and a World Heritage Site.  Together these destinations form what is known as the Best of Patagonia.
