Hi Friends,

For seven years now, I've leaned on you this time of year to help me raise the funds we need to keep CCR going. You have never let the shelter pups down, and each year as the Mutt Strut approaches, I'm overcome with gratitude to you, both for your generosity to the shelter dogs, and also, for your constant support of me in my role here at the shelter.  This year, I lost a very important member of my cheering squad - my beloved hound, Bunsen.  He was my first rescue, and it's no understatement to say that he was the center of my world.  Often after a tough day at the shelter, Bunsen's hugs and drooly kisses gave me the strength to get up and do it all over again, day after day, and year after year.  His passing has left me with a huge hole in the center of my family.  But, as anyone who's loved a dog so deeply knows, it's also inspired me to keep working hard for other dogs in need, in the hopes that they will all have an opportunity to complete a lucky family like Bunsen did for mine.  It's not enough to rescue a dog from death - to me, they're not truly saved until they are at the center of a loving family.  With your help, and in Bunsen's honor, I promise to make this a reality for all the pups I possibly can!

Chicago Canine Rescue has rehabilitated and rehomed over 6,100 dogs! Their mission is to save the lives of injured, neglected and unloved, homeless dogs in the Chicago area and from around the Midwest.

Dogs who would make perfectly good friends and family members, but just need someone to save them. To give them a chance. A chance to survive. A chance to love. A chance to be loved.
