Exercise Can Change Lives and So Can You…
As some of you know, I had a fit of madness in 2009 and joined Canada Get Fit. Over the last three years, I have been running and, more recently, cycling my little heart out with this wonderful and inspiring group of people! After taking on a couple of Marathons, three 30 km races and a half dozen Half's, I started cycling this Spring!
For this year, I have taken on two major goals: The Centurian - a 100 mile bike race - and the Montreal Half-marathon one week later. On the September 16th, I will join hundreds of other people for a 160 km endurance cycling event in Blue Mountain, Ontario. The route contains four serious climbs, beginning at the base of the legendary Niagara Escarpment along the shores of picturesque Georgian Bay. Then, with thousands of others, I plan to run the Montreal Rock 'n Roll Half-Marathon on September 23. Despite a summer of training, it would really help to know that I am doing this with the support of my friends and colleagues and for a worthy cause.
As a Canada Get Fit Rider I will be seeking to contribute to the $200,000 goal to construct and equip WELLSPRING Halton-Peel’s New Cancer Exercise Facility. Research has shown that exercise through cancer treatment improves outcomes. As an active runner and cyclist, I couldn’t help but throw my support behind this wonderful program and I hope you can too. By supporting me, you’ll be making an immeasurable difference in the life of someone fighting cancer.
I know from my own experience that cancer touches many of us. Just click "Sponsor Me" to make a donation.
Thank you so much for your generosity!
