Exercise Can Change Lives and So Can You…
As many of you know I am an avid runner. This year I thought I would take on an additional challenge. On the September 16th, 2012 I will join hundreds of other people on a [ ] km cycle as part of the Centurion, an endurance cycling event in Blue Mountain, Ontario. The route contains a series of relentless rollers, the course beginning at the base of the legendary Niagara Escarpment along the shores of picturesque Georgian Bay. The sharp and steep elevation differential runs from New York state up through the province of Ontario and will serve as a prime hurdle to test all riders.
As a Canada Get Fit Rider I will be participating in this gruelling challenge to contribute to the $200,000 goal to construct and equip WELLSPRING Halton-Peel’s New Cancer Exercise Facility. Research has shown that exercise through cancer treatment improves outcomes. As an active runner I couldn’t help but throw my support behind this wonderful program and I hope you can too. I know from my own experience that cancer touches many of us.
