For the very first time, Team Ottawa will be travelling to Duquesa, Dominican Republic from June 14 - 21, 2025, to bring essential primary medical care to people who've been living without it.

Together with Community Empowerment and RUSH University, our team of volunteers from Ottawa and Newfoundland will be working directly with families living near the Duquesa landfill - one of the largest landfills in the world. This area is home to a large number of Haitian migrants, many of whom live in deeply challenging conditions with little to no access to healthcare.

Throughout the week, we'll be offering medical support for a community that has long been overlooked. It's a mission rooted in compassion, equity and the belief that access to healthcare should never depend on where you live.
