From November 20–30, 2026, Team Ottawa will once again travel to Taiwan Hospital in Azua, Dominican Republic, to provide a week of orthopaedic surgical care to patients who would otherwise have little or no access to these services. Our volunteer team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and support staff will care for local Dominican residents and Haitian refugees facing significant financial barriers to healthcare.
Together, they will perform procedures including acute fracture repairs, reconstruction of neglected fractures and post-traumatic injuries, treatment of orthopaedic infections, selected elective surgeries (such as carpal tunnel and rotator cuff procedures), and biopsies of masses or tumours when needed.
Every donation helps provide essential surgical care and gives patients the opportunity to regain mobility, reduce pain, and return to their families and communities.
To support a specific member of Team Ottawa, please select the volunteer's name from the list on the right when making your donation. Thank you for helping make this mission possible.
