The Nutrition Therapy Fund was established to ensure
sustainable funding for our special needs animals so that they can
find their forever homes and live happy, healthy lives.
The Oakville & Milton Humane Society is committed to assisting
every animal in need to the best of our ability, regardless of
short-term or chronic health issues. This philosophy is reflected in
our mission which is focused on protecting and caring for vulnerable
animals in our community. Among these animals there are a wide range
of health issues including: diabetes, urinary and bladder issues,
digestive issues, allergies, kidney problems, and obesity. Many of
these issues can be stabilized, or even cured, through special diets.
Over 65% of the Shelter’s animal food budget goes towards special
diets for our animals.
