How do I handle back orders?
Your eStore inventory can be tracked in two ways. Each way has its own strengths and uses:

Setting maximum inventory numbers

When you control inventory by entering maximum inventory levels, the quantity decreases with each order. When the eStore is out of stock of a particular item, customers can no longer order that product.

You can continue to take orders by entering what the new inventory level will be. This allows you to take back-orders, which will be filled from a new shipment.

Setting no inventory numbers

When there is no need for inventory control—for example, when you regularly replenish particular product inventory regularly— you can leave the quantity blank. This allows you to continually receive orders.
